Synthesis and characterization of functionalized SBA-15 silica through template removal

摘要
Large pore size SBA-15 was synthesized and several strategies for preparation of ordered, mesoporous silica, SBA-15 are reported. The synthesis of SBA-15 with functionalization by grafting of trimethoxysilyl groups bearing different functional groups such as NH2-, Cl-, SH- is reported. The carboxylate functionalized siliceous SBA-15 was prepared in a one-pot synthesis from cyno-functionalized hybrid material followed by treatment with sulfuric acid to hydrolyze the -CN groups to acid. The co-condensation enables a higher and more surface coverage of functional group. In addition, the results of XRD, and Si-29 and C-13 NMR analyses, N-2 isotherms, IR and TGA analyses confirmed the incorporation of NH2-, Cl-, SH- and COOH groups in the materials, and clearly indicates that the mesostructures are preserved during the modifications. Detailed characterization data were firstly presented together in our paper.
