摘要
There is lack of innovative research and analysis techniques in HCI domain pertaining to users' aesthetic perceptions when interacting with information systems. In this study, qualitative research technique using grounded theory approach has been applied. The Emerging Themes Analysis based on qualitative assessment of data provided a theoretical rationalization that users' in an online learning environment have varied aesthetic perceptions and motivational factors (expressed as aesthetic-emotions), that can be classified into six broad emerging categories. The findings suggest that learners' aesthetic-emotions in an online learning enviromnent are enriched with artistic qualities, critical evaluation, creative imagination, and at the same time deploy multiple-high order senses for cognitive engagement and motivation. This study concludes that integration of learners' motivation and aesthetic needs associated in an online learning environment can facilitate HCI researchers to improvise existing designing approaches pertaining to E-Learning systems.
