Residual stresses by Moire Interferometry and incremental hole drilling

摘要
A new method is proposed in determining residual stress in depth by single moire interferometry and incremental hole drilling method. The relationships between the single surface displacement field of moire interferometry and the corresponding residual stress is established by introducing a set of calibration coefficients. These coefficients are determined by 3-D finite element method, where, two specific loading cases are used. The method is accurate and convenient and is applied successfully in determining the distribution of welding residual stress in depth be the single U-x fields, where the U-x field contains more fringe orders than the corresponding U-y field. Many other applications for various residual stress problems are anticipated.
