摘要
Examples of right and wrong application of the relative method of fatigue life prediction were considered for aircraft elements and notched material specimens in the case of realistic loading programs. The examples were given both for the use of the Relative-Miner-Rule (Relative NSA method) and the relative LSA method for cycle-by-cycle and block-by-block counting. The effects of loading spectrum modifications, reference stress or stress concentration variations and material exchange were investigated. Fatigue performances of quite similar types of elements were compared using the relative method for related loading cases. Loading cases, which may, or may not be considered as related, are discussed together with the effect of calculation procedure.
