摘要：
The influence parameters involved during film press coating are discussed from premetering through application and film splitting. The theory of coating colour dewatering in the film press nip is compared with empirical pilot coater results obtained on woodcontaining and woodfree papers at coatweights around 10 g/m(2)/side and speeds above 1000 m/min. Besides machine parameters pigment composition and the amount and type of cobinder used are the determining factors for the runnability of the sheet on one hand and the surface quality of the finished paper on the other hand. The job of the papermaker is to find a compromise between these two unfortunately conflicting issues.
