In a field experiment study was carried out in Paraiba State, Brazil, to determine the economic threshold for Anthonomus grandis Boheman control, under irrigation conditions. This insect pest has caused high yield losses in upland and perennial cotton since its invasion in 1983. The effects of boil weevil damage on cotton agronomic characteristics, fibre quality and yield losses are discussed.
