Numerical study of hypersonic rarefied-gas flows about a torus

摘要
Using the direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) technique, flow about a torus and its aerodynamic characteristics were studied under the conditions of a hypersonic rarefied-gas stream at 8R≥H≥2R and Knudsen Kn∞,R from 0.0167 to 1. The results reveal that the flow pattern and shock-wave shapes are significantly different for small and large inner-outer radii ratios.
