Retinopathy associations in the ongoing US Veterans Affairs Diabetes Trial (VADT)

摘要
In the baseline retinal photographs of the ongoing VA Diabetes Trial, higher retinopathy scores are associated with duration of diagnosis, microalbuminuria, HbA1c, blood pressure and fibrinogen, and are inversely associated with PAI-1, triglycerides and smoking. High scores were more prevalent in African American and Hispanic patients, even if corrected for other risk factors.
