RECURSIVE ALGORITHM TO STUDY TRANSMISSION COEFFICIENTS FOR P-SV WAVES PROPAGATING IN 1D INHOMOGENEOUS PHONONIC CRYSTALS

摘要
A recursive algorithm based on stiffness matrix is proposed to study the P-SV wave propagation in a one-dimensional phononic crystal of continuous inhomogeneous media. It could avoid the numerical instability of the transfer matrix method for the high frequency range. A power law profile is proposed for the cell of phononic crystals, where the density and modulus change continuously. It is found that the inhomogeneity could reduce the size of the bandgaps of the transmission or reflection coefficients of the wave.
