LEONARDO RUCABADO: ARCHITECTURE AND GRAPHIC ART

Leonardo Rucabado (1875-1918), both architecture and engineer, opted for pursuing a career in architecture, creating a large work (Lamperez; 217-224) which was imbued with a non-conformism that made him chart art to different routes due to his thorough research on traditional mountain architecture. This effort permitted him to lay basis of mountain style in 1911, which had long-term consequences and devoted followers on the Cantabria coast until the first quarter of the 20th century. Drawing meant to be the tool for the materialisation and spread of his research and ideas.
