Sources of self-esteem and of life satisfaction:: personality and coping strategies

The research was aimed at the analysis of relations of self-esteem and life satisfaction to temperament and interpersonal personality traits and coping strategies. Although the self-esteem and the life satisfaction are closely connected, their relations to temperament and interpersonal personality traits and coping strategies in demanding life situations agree only partly. The satisfaction with oneself and the life satisfaction are connected with the emotional stability. In persons with the high self-esteem the dominant position towards the social environment is typical above all, even in the stress situations, while the life satisfaction is based on positive interpersonal relations and on selecting of positive aspects of stressing situations.
