摘要
Forest fires in the Mediterranean regions are a major environmental problem. These fires put at risk not only human life but also sustainability of forests and other woodlands in general. The regeneration of vegetation after fires is a slow process. During this time, conditions are favorable for the erosion and soil loss processes. Hence, it is important to monitor assessment of the total surface burned, the type of land and land cover affected to estimate the full damage and to follow closely the regeneration of the plant after fire.
