摘要
The orthodontic treatment of adult patients is constantly increasing, pre-prosthetic indications, periodontally damaged teeth, but also orthodontic relapse treatments, which may be associated with the "X-Effect" can be part of the daily patient occurrence in orthodontics. TMJ disorders with a long clinical record and dysgnathia, which require other medical specialties in addition to orthodontics in order to achieve a successful result, complete the spectrum of adult treatment. Due to the complex anamnesis of this group of patients, a basic knowledge of various disciplines is advantageous in order to be able to exchange information on an interdisciplinary basis and to be able to choose an individual therapy approach. The individual therapeutic approach includes the vast amount of appliances and treatment options that orthodontics entails. Depending on the medical history, conventional multi-bracket appliances, aligners and individualized lingual appliances can have certain advantages that the orthodontist should know and use. In the meantime, digitization has progressed so far in our field that the advantages are becoming more and more important and interdisciplinary cooperation can be done more precisely. This article should give a small insight into the possibilities of modern Orthodontics for adult treatment.
