摘要
The apparent contradiction between the limited success rate of Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and its widespread diffusion among Western firms is explained with reference to research undertaken across four European countries and to the innovation diffusion literature. A model is developed which illustrates the diffusion process associated with BPR. This illustrates the importance of technology suppliers and professional associations as 'fashion setters' in the diffusion process but also suggests their roles differ across national boundaries.
