Dynamic resource allocation scheme in cellular based distributed multi-hop/multi-channel systems

摘要
We consider cellular based distributed multi-hop/multi-channel systems with high capability relay stations based on file IEEE 802.16e system. In such systems, fixed resource allocation scheme to each RS doesn't need the control overhead for resource allocation. However, the utilization efficiency of frame resources can be reduced by fixed allocation. On the other hand, dynamic resource allocation schemes generally can improve system capacity due to the efficient usage of frame resources. For optimum resource allocation, information of all time-varying factors (e.g., channel quality, topology, buffer state etc) should be provided to BS from all MSs. Therefore, a large amount of control overhead is required and resource allocation scheme may be too complicate. In this paper, we define three measures that can represent time variant factors. By using only these measures as feedback information, we propose dynamic resource allocation scheme with moderate complexity and acceptable control overhead. The proposed scheme adjusts the amount of resources in a way that inflow and outflow bits of relay stations are equal. The results show that system throughput can be moderately enhanced only with the small control overhead.
