摘要
The visualization of geospatial data is vital to data analysis. The existing visualization methods have several limitations. Firstly, they focus on a certain data format for visualization, which lacks scalability. Secondly, they cannot provide diverse visualization of categories. To address these challenges, we develop a extensible tool VTGeo (Visualization Tool for Geospatial Data), which can visualize geospatial data. VTGeo automatically creates the corresponding table structure by identifying the data file uploaded by users and converting data sources into a visual representation. Users also can customize data types in an extensible spatio-temporal database SECONDO, which can store moving object data with time and location information. SECONDO makes VTGeo visualization with data type scalability. VTGeo provides five categories of visualization: Scatter Plots Maps, Area Maps, Road Maps, Dynamic Road Maps, and Heat Maps. Users can personalize the display style of graphics in the five categories. The demonstration is performed by using real trajectory datasets.
