Flow around a rotating circular cylinder at low Reynolds numbers

摘要
The unsteady flow around a circular cylinder with steady rotation and rotary oscillation has been numerically investigated. The incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are solved by the predictor corrector pressure scheme, finite volume second order accurate discretization and an alternating direction implicit procedure. The numerical simulation results suggest that at low rotating parameter the rotary oscillation significantly changes the flow structures, and increases the mean lift coefficient. However, when the rotating parameter reaches 3, the Karman vortex street is completely suppressed, and the influence of the rotary oscillation on the lift coefficient is also reduced.
