Year 2000 issues and recommendations

The group participants discussed the Millennium Problem - an issue that has recently received a lai ge amount of attention from the business community. This summary details the causes of the problem, its scope, and outlines the impact it has on organisations, society and the economy. The time frame associated with the problem is discussed as well as the state of denial that many organisations currently express. Various software tools that can assist throughout millennium compliance efforts are presented, and further sources of assistance are identified including newsletters, conferences, training, and Internet resources. Finally, the recommendations to groups Of academics and practitioners such as ourselves are discussed.
