Qualitative simulation of the functioning and operation of the industrial equipment using an expert system.

The qualitative; simulation of physical and operational processes is used to elaborate a knowledge base for an expert system. The paper describes the simulation of these processes and how the expert system EXPERTO, with its particularities, performs this simulation. The paper reports the knowledge base CPRESION as example of the simulation of the physical and operational processes taking place during the functioning of the pressurizer in nuclear power plant with WWER 440 reactor type. This knowledge base is used by EXPERTO, when the latter works alone, or integrated to a simulator (SIMEXCP), or as a module of an Intelligent Tutoring System (CPTUTOR).
