Aim at the ageing insect physical specimen and hard to improvement, we constructed the insect electronic specimens library inquiry system. In the construction process, we closely integrated experimental teaching requirements, firstly, the planning project was formulated, professional teachers conducted the physical specimen collection and screening. And then digital information was collected and stored using digital camera and a storage device. According to the teaching need, the electronic specimen was inputted query system in the form of pictures and text. Students can understand and learn using touch screen and large screen. To a great extent, this system not only resolve the problem during storage and using the insect physical specimen, but also improve the students' interest in learning and participation in this course, overcome the disadvantages of the students' passive learning, has obtained the good teaching effect. System construction is the first time in the experimental teaching of plant protection in China, this will take our entomology experiment teaching into a brand-new mode from the traditional teaching mode and could provide useful inspiration to other subjects of the experiment teaching of our school.
