摘要：
This article provides an overview of UMTS. It covers the radio spectrum and licence issues, giving an introduction to the radio access technologies and how they relate to existing mobile systems. It also describes the services that are likely to be supported, together with a view of the future evolution of mobile communications with BT's vision of an 'all-Internet protocol (IP)' network.
