Effects of trace Zr and Cr on mechanical properties of the alloy Cu13Zn

摘要
The alloys Cu13Zn, Cu13ZnO. 1Zr and Cu13ZnO. 1Zr0. 1Cr were prepared. The effects of Zr and Cr on mechanical properties of the alloy Cu13Zn have been studied using mechanical test, metallographic examination and TEM observation. The results show that the strength and recrystallization temperature of the alloy CulSZn increase respectively with adding trace Zr and Cr. After annealing at 500 degreesC for 1 h the tensile strength and yield strengh of Cu13Zn0.1Zr0.1Cr reach 395 MPa and 298 MPa respectively, while the elongation is 29% which are satisfied for asynchronous traction motor. The strengthening mechanisms are mainly substructure strengthening and second phase particle strengthening.
