Jose Oubrerie: Dialogue between the Modern and the Contemporary

The unfinished Firiminy Church of Le Corbusier was revealed to the public in its completed form in 2006, forty years after the architect's death. The incomplete church had laid above its ground floor foundation blocks, which have finally been realised after decades of being untouched. Jose Orberie was the architect who acted as the brains and hand of Le Corbusier. He is a French architect who worked with Le Corbusier for nearly ten years, and later paved the way for his career both as an architect and educator in France and the US, encompassing modern and contemporary grammar. SPACE met with Jose Orbrerie on the 12th of May as the architect visited Korea for the first time to deliver a special lecture on 'ICI, CON-TINUER'. This opportunity allowed us to listen to his empirical logic, continuing the architectural heritage and language of Le Corbusier.
