摘要
Coherent detection allows the bit rate transported in an optical system to be increased to 100 Gb/s, and beyond, by enabling multiple bits per symbol and multiple subcarriers. Advances in CMOS allow digital signal processing to compensate for the major degradations caused by the optical fiber. This paper reviews technologies that can be used to achieve bit rates greater than 100 Gb/s. (C) 2011 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
