摘要
Disk and diode laser sources were used for bead-on-plate welding of Zr55Cu30Al10Ni5 bulk metallic glass. It was found that the disk laser could produce an amorphous metal weld without crystallization in the heat affected zone using a laser power of 3 kW and a scanning speed of 72 m/min. Meanwhile, using the same laser power, an amorphous metal weld could be produced with the diode laser using a scanning speed of 20 m/min. However, crystallization in the heat affected zone could not be fully suppressed, even with a higher scanning speed.
