Rapid solution of expected security cost optimal power flow using MatlabMPI and Beowulf Linux cluster

摘要
This paper presents a parallel and distributed computation technique to solve the expected security-cost optimal power flow (ESCOPF) problem. The integrated ESCOPF problem has been decomposed into a main problem and many subproblems (one for each contingency). Decoupled ESCOPF has been solved using Beowulf Linux cluster. MatlabMPI has been used for inter-processor communication. Significant speed improvements promise the ability to compute results in a reasonable amount of time which would otherwise take far too long to be seriously considered.
