摘要
The treatment of nature has been given ample scope in Wuthering Heights. Critics, however, have often reduced the role of nature by focusing on human actions. But what happens if we tip the balance from the idea of a nature that has been overshadowed by the interests of the characters to that of a nature that is first seen from its natural viewpoint of matter and physicality? Through an ecopsychological lens I intend to read Emily Bronte's sensory and physical bond with nature as essential to construct a novel based on the development of the ecological self.
