Polarisation effects in WDM long-haul optically amplified systems

摘要：
Results of experiments and simulations carried out recently to understand the impact of linear polarisation effects in long-haul, optically amplified multi-channel systems are presented. Results show that there is only a minor impairment in mean Q factor, but still a considerable Q factor fluctuation penalty.
