Indications and contraindications of herd-specific vaccines in swine

摘要：
Herd-specific vaccines are produced according to 17c of the Animal Infectious Disease Act and also 17d which governs manufacturing permission. Only inactivates are allowed in Germany. Current important indications for bacterial herd vaccines are discussed. Furthermore, questions about the combinability of antigens as well as the assessment of efficacy are discussed. Herd-specific vaccines are a useful tool for the veterinary herd health management.
