摘要
Transverse flux induction is an advantageous possibility to heat thin metal strip. This technology allows to reach high electrical efficiencies and high power densities, which lead to small necessary floor space and shout heating time. The successful industrial application of these heaters requires the solution of the complicated design. Therefore, a concept for the optimal design of transverse flux induction heaters has been developed. It is based on the combination of already existing experts know-how, numerical simulation programs and mathematical optimisation methods. In this paper the successful use of the concept is presented referring to the design of an industrial transverse flux induction heater for brass strip.
