摘要
A Geographic Information System has been developed for sugar cane areas in Cuba with the objective of insuring sustainable management of the crop. Different tasks have been included in the system for data manipulation by transformations and linkages to processing systems. In this case, the Integrated Land and Water Information System (ILWIS) is used for the analysis and representations from spatial relationships and attributes. The system supports its own language that allows script development to accelerate repetitive processes. This paper has made use of bio-physic databases. In ILWIS's script generation, we have employed Visual FoxPro as the Database Management System and as the generator of the execute program to the area balance calculation. Other systems were used in the spatial analysis to validate and organise the supplied information. Among the scripts developed are maps with: assimilable phosphorus and potassium soil content and pH, necessity of fertiliser application (NPK), tillage requirements, and area balance calculations. This paper also shows spatial analysis as land evaluation results using FAO methodology.
