Chemoradiotherapy with carboplatin plus flouropirimidines in locally advanced nasopharyngeal cancer

摘要：
We performed a phase II trial with chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced nasopharyngeal cancer (LANC). Treatment consisted of two courses of carboplatin 400 mg/m2 plus fluorouracil, 1000 mg/m2/day for 5 days in 4 weeks, followed by radiotherapy, 68-73 Gy over tumour site and neck nodes, followed by 4 courses of carboplatin,400 mg/m2 every 4 weeks plus oral Tegafur. 500 mg/m2/days for 28 days. Complete response was observed in 12 out 18 patients (67%). Partial response was observed in 5 other patients (28%). Median disease free survival (DFS) was 37 months and median survival time was 24 months. This chemoradiotherapy regimen induces a high response rate and long DFS in patients with LANC.
