摘要
Technology can support a self-determined life in an aging society. Developing so-called Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) systems requires a user-centered design process to provide required functionalities and at the same time not to overwhelm users with unnecessary or incomprehensible interactions. Focus groups are a suitable method for qualitative surveys of target groups. Performing it online due to pandemic restrictions requires adjustments and special preparations. This article explicates findings for conducting online focus groups with the elderly. It gives recommendations on the selection of participants, preparation and specific techniques for online focus groups with technically inexperienced participants.
