Inhibition of Pitting Corrosion on Type 304 Stainless Steel

摘要
Ammonia-based flue gas desulfurization (AFGD) has many advantages, but it cannot work to its full capacity due to corrosion, especially pitting corrosion. Inhibition effects of diethylenetriamine (DETA) on pitting corrosion in a simulated AFGD slurry was investigated. Results showed that Type 304 stainless steel plate (UNS S30408) was prone to pitting corrosion in the simulated AFGD slurry, and DETA provided substantial pitting corrosion inhibition.
