摘要
The Con Moong Cave, situated in Thanh Yen Commune, Thach Thanh District, Thanh Hoa Province, is one of the best known caves in Vietnam from both an archaeological and a stratigraphic point of view. The cave contains sedimentary deposits consisting of seven units dated from 19 kyr BP, and represents a very good record of palaeoclimate and stratigraphy as well as of past human activity. A total of 27 samples from this cave were collected and analysed for C-14 dating. Samples were collected and analysed for both pollen and molluscs, and magnetic susceptibility analyses were also performed. This cave is of national heritage value and a proposal for world heritage recognition is being submitted to UNESCO.
