摘要
CRBSI is a frequent complication of CVC use in ICUs and significantly affects clinical outcome in critically ill patients. To reduce the burden of CRBSIs, clinicians who insert CVCs in ICUs must follow best practices for the prevention of CRBSIs. Those practices are (1) insertion into the subclavian vein, (2) use of MBPs during all CVC insertions, (3) use of CHG to clean the CVC-insertion site, and (4) use of antimicrobial-treated CVCs in select patient subgroups.
