摘要：
Despite the concerns expressed about the failure of the Crown Prosecution Service to assert its independence from the police, current political initiatives encourage the CPS to develop closer working relations with the police. In this paper, an attempt is made to assess the consequences of one such initiative-the placement of prosecutors in police stations to offer pre-charge advice to police investigators.
