Estimation of the condition of the downhole at the Hijiori Hot Dry Rock (HDR) test site during the long-term circulation test

Since 1984, a R&D project of Hot Dry Rock (HDR) geothermal energy has been carried out at Hijiori in Yamagata prefecture, Japan. A circulation test was conducted from November 27, 2000 to November 15, 2001. Aiming to evaluate characteristics of a reservoir system, PTS (Pressure - Temperature - Spinner) logging was periodically carried out during this test. Also, to better understand the characteristics of this system, the pressure of the shallow reservoir was monitored in well SKG-2 during this test. As PTS logging was temporary, we did not know the downhole condition of every term of this test. To estimate the characteristic of the flow in this reservoir system, we calculated the downhole pressure, temperature of production well (HDR-2a) using by the wellbore simulation code "GFLOW". This code is a multi-feed zone and a multicomponent geothermal wellbore simulator. We compared measured the pressure of SKG-2 with the calculated pressure of HDR-2a. As the results of this simulation, the downhole pressure of HDR-2a was similar of the downhole pressure of SKG-2.
