Toward the identification of a core zone in the Tehuacan-Cuicatlan biosphere reserve, Mexico, based on parsimony analysis of endemicity of flowering plant species

摘要
The evaluation of distributional patterns of 174 flowering plant species endemic to the Tehuacan-Cuicatlan Biosphere Reserve, Mexico, using the Parsimony Analysis of Endemicity (PAE), allowed the identification of eight areas of endemism. These areas are considered irreplaceable as their species are not found anywhere else. The areas of endemism identified are proposed as core zones for the Biosphere Reserve, as they would conserve 85% of the endemic flora and 68% of the Reserve's total floristic diversity.
