摘要
An international joint research project is underway to study the dynamic response and failure mechanisms of underground structures, such as pile foundations and buried pipelines, in potentially liquefiable soils. The project is called EDUS (Earthquake Damage to Underground Structures) project, and it is organized and administered by WSU (Wayne State University) and NIED (National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention, Science and Technology Agency of Japan). One of the key tasks of this project is to produce reliable experimental data that can be used to improve currently available numerical techniques and design guidelines for pile foundations and buried pipelines. In this paper, results from large-scale shaking-table tests and centrifuge tests are introduced and compared, and the results are analyzed by numerical methods to gain insight into the dynamic behavior of pile foundations in liquefying sand.
