Mycosis fungoides in dogs and cats -: a clinical comparison

Mycosis fungoides is a are disease and belongs to the cutaneous epitheliotropic lymphoma. Clinical signs, therapy and clinical course were described in five dogs and one cat. Diagnosis was confirmed by histopathological studies of skin biopsies. In dogs erythema, scaling, alopecia, developing of nodules and lesions of the oral mucosa were frequently seen, while pruritus, depigmentation and mucocutaneous localization were rarely presented. One cat showed hyperpigmentation and hyperkeratosis. The age by onset of disease was between 9 and 11 years. One dog was only 6 years old. Two dogs had to be euthanized shortly after diagnosing because of systemic involvement. The others had a survival time of 8 to 12,5 months.
