摘要
An infrared rotating rotationally-shearing interferometer is proposed for the detection of a planet around a nearby star. The fringe visibility pattern is shown to depend only on the planet parameters. The expression for the interferometric pattern generated by a star and its faint companion detected by a rotationally-shearing interferometer shows that the planet can be detected only if the aperture rotates. Additionally, we show that the shearing interferometer does not suppress the star light. The interferometric pattern is proportional to the star intensity.
