A simple pricing scheme for DiffServ networks

摘要
The Differentiated Service (DiffServ) model has been proposed as an efficient and scalable service architecture to deploy different services on the Internet. In this paper, we propose a new pricing model for DiffServ. We use a marking/dropping mechanism incorporated in our pricing scheme to apply pricing in congested DiffServ networks. The proposed scheme is simple to implement and can give users incentives to control their behaviours by charging the network resources they have used during periods of congestion, while a user does not have to pay fees when the price ceiling has been reached.
