Deals with a chapter in the rather closed from outside observation area of private lives - current intrafamily relations studies in Russia, with the conflicts stemming from abuses perpetrated against the older age groups. Surveys done by the sociologist cover the situation in the Saratov oblast. Resultant data permit to formulate typologies, assess the scale of the above phenomenon, to draw preliminary social portraits both of the victims and perpetrators, and to measure the influence of certain factors such as economic, emotional, medical, sexual etc. A conclusion is made regarding the growing de-humanization of the society affecting arguably all the social groups of the present-day Russian society, a fact calling for grater attention by the public.
