摘要
The paper presents a simple method for prediction the short fatigue crack growth rate and the lifetime estimation of a notched member in short crack range. In order to model the crack behaviour there was assumed an exponentially decreasing stress concentration factor over the distance ahead of the notch root. The crack propagation law follows the Paris formula. The viability of the method has been verified for the cracks developed at the notches in a medium carbon steel specimens under bending.
