摘要：
Many US water and wastewater customers have a hard time paying their water bills; the COVID-19 pandemic has heightened the struggle. While the water industry considers its own financial challenges in addressing aging infrastructure and climate change, and providing high-quality water, it realizes its duty to keep water affordable. Utilities wanting to help households facing financial hardship have options for the types of affordability programs they provide and how those programs are funded. © 2022 American Water Works Association.
