In July 1998 ABME Content was put on-line: Not only the abstracts; but the full papers; then became available for everyone. Initially this was a free service; open for anyone to download our articles; but economic demands led to restricting the service in April 2000 to subscribers (institutional libraries; individuals; and society members). There is now a $15 fee for downloading to non-subscribers. This fee is necessary to help put the journal for the future on its own financial foundation; independent of the generous funding from Whitaker Foundation which allowed for its recent improvements;
