摘要
In recent years, techniques involving the combination of lidars (laser-radars) and cloud radars have been shown to be powerful tools for cloud remote sensing. By combining lidars with radars a more complete picture of the cloud vertical pro le can be obtained. Further, cloud microphysical and radiative properties can be measured by exploiting the dependence of the lidar and radar signals on the e ective cloud particle size. In this paper, a brief overview of lidar/radar cloud remote sensing is presented and the outlook for the application of similar techniques to upcoming remote sensing space missions (involving lidars and radars) will be discussed.
