College English Listening Teaching under a Multimedia Environment

Listening is a basic and important part of the educational system for English teaching, which pays more attention to practical application. The use of multimedia technologies provides rich learning materials and creates a more realistic and natural context for English language usage, which stimulate the learner's sense of hearing, sight, and other sensory organs. Multimedia technology plays a critical role in English listening teaching. Some English teachers and non-English major students in three universities were selected as research subjects in the present study. The problems of college English listening teaching in the multimedia environment were identified, and the root of the problems and the related factors were analyzed. English listening teaching under the multimedia environment was studied in the context of multimedia teaching of English listening carefully combined with the analysis of the basic theories of education, psychology, and foreign language teaching to help English teachers improve their teaching and to provide theoretical and practical references for activities in college multimedia English listening teaching.
