Mechanical properties of PVC/nano-CaCO3 composites

摘要
The mechanical properties of the poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC)-based nanocomposites filled with titanate treated nano-calcium carbonates (CaCO 3) were investigated. The dispersion of the nanoparticles in the sample was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy. It was found that with a increase in filler content, the strength of the PVC/CaCO3 composites was decreased. The results show that the titanate-treated CaCO3 particles exhibit improved mechanical properties due to the improved interfacial adhesion and dispersion resulting from the surface treatment of the CaCO 3 particles.
